Stottlemeyer's comment about how if it were him, he would've emptied the entire gun on the intruder is confounding to me. Did he think that had Sherman done that it would've made him appear LESS guilty? Does he not know that a jury seeing that could cast some reasonable doubt by asking that if it were really self-defense as Sherman claimed, why then would he need to shoot the intruder multiple times? Just because your wife was shot dead doesn't give you the LEGAL entitlement to kill the shooter. I'm sure Stottlemeyer is generally an honorable man, but this comment from him kind of bothered me especially given his temper and how it has almost led him into trouble in the past. It's also interesting considering many of the shooting victims on the show have actually been taken out by just a single shot.
