Paul Crawford is a character featured in Season 7. He is a journalist for the San Francisco Dispatch who was carrying on an affair with City Councilwoman Eileen Hill. When Eileen tried to get Paul to leave his wife for her and used a faulty pregnancy test to blackmail him, Paul strangled her with one of his fancy ties. He then dumped her body in the San Francisco Bay near a pier but wound up killing 2 German tourists as well. Adrian Monk soon solved the murder, realizing the tie Eileen was killed with was the same kind Crawford sported, especially since the brand wasn't sold in the States. He was immediately arrested for 3 murders.
