Maria Schecter is a City Hall staff member and proxy councilwoman for San Francisco. She worked for Councilwoman Eileen Hill and filled in for her other secretary who had pneumonia. What she didn't know was that she was hired on for her pee due to being with child, i.e. pregnant. After Hill was discovered dead and washed up on the San Francisco Bayline, she assumed Hill's role as a proxy vote on the City Council as a nay vote for demolishing the parking garage that Trudy Monk was killed in. After Monk outed Paul Crawford as the suspect while making insulting rhetoric's about Maria, she told the City Council she wanted to change her vote. She helped vote to remove the garage, much to Monks dismay.
