Sheriff Margie Butterfield is the sheriff of Chambers County, California. She was close friends with Harvey Disher and has taken a liking to Adrian Monk when Randy took over the farm after his uncle's death. She and her deputy, Lenny Hatcher, were the first ones to appear at the scene were Disher was found dead. She later met Adrian at one of the monthly square dancing socials and while Adrian was investigating, she realized it didn't make sense why Jimmy Belmont, the man Monk was investigating, would be the only person who heard a gunshot that night, let alone, only appeared at that Dance that one time. Upon retrieval of real proof and evidence, she and Hatcher arrested Belmont for murdering Harvey.
