Jack Leverett is a car dealer who appears in the episode "Mr. Monk and the Actor".
Biography[]
One night he met up with a woman in a restaurant (despite being married) and ended up going back to her apartment to have sex. While the two were flirting [and he tore his shirt on her hide-a-bed couch], he playfully threw pillows at Michelle, accidentally knocked over a nearby teddy bear overlooking the couch, knocking out out a recording camera in it. Michelle tried to get it, but Jack had already spotted it. Suspecting blackmail, he demanded to know what was going on, and tried to wrestle the camera from her. A push sent her into a staircase, killing her. Jack then fled the scene after taking the camera.
During the struggle, his watch was broken, and he needed a new one. It also turns out that the restaurant painted the customers on the wall. Knowing he would be in trouble if his wife saw the wall with the painting, he went to the restaurant and smashed the wall section with him and Michelle with a sledgehammer. Coincidentally, a pawn shop was on the other side of the wall, which he went into and stole a watch after taking some cash. However, the owner, Lexus Orlov, appeared with a gun. Jack slowly approached him and tried to wrestle the gun from him, however, the revolver went off in the struggle, killing Orlov.
Later, Adrian Monk pieced the broken wall section together, revealing Jack's face. The police then set out for him.
While at his auto dealership, a vigilante-style man (method actor David Ruskin), who believed he was Adrian after getting deep into character, held Jack at gunpoint, mistakenly believing Jack was Trudy Monk's killer. In the end, the real Adrian convinced David that this wasn't what Trudy would want, with David releasing the gun.
Handcuffed to a car earlier by David, it is most likely that the police then came in and arrested Jack.
Interestingly, Jack appears to be one of the most humane killers in the show. He never meant to kill either of his victims. He was visibly concerned when Michelle struck her head on the stairs and looked outright horrified to have killed Lexus.
