Harvey Disher was a farmer and the uncle of Randy Disher who appeared in the Season 5 episode "Mr. Monk Visits a Farm", and is the victim of the week.
Harvey Disher is on his quaint country farm, tending his prize show pig, Nadine, when his neighbor, Jimmy Belmont, approaches him and offers Harvey $10,000 in cash. Harvey refuses the money and threatens to turn Belmont in to the sheriff. Belmont appears to concede, promising to get rid of the unknown crop he is growing down in the gulch, and pleading with Harvey to give him one day to fix things, without having to call the sheriff. Harvey agrees.
That night the lights at the square dance in town and when the cops go to investigate they find Harvey's pig Nadine dead in the road and Harvey nearby dead from a a gun shot apparently by his own hand. His death was ruled as a suicide until Monk investigates and concludes that he was murdered by his neighbor Jimmy Belmont after he discovered that Belmont was secretly growing and likely dealing marijuana and threatened to turn him in to the local sheriff.
